Our clients elected to repair the original (rotted) running boards
We used a hydraulic jack to lift the original joists to meet the new running board
New running boards installed
Next we resolved any rot in the original posts
Unsafe sections were replaced with pressure treated 4x4's
Healthy posts were given a good sanding
Then they were double-coated with solid stain
Next we squared the original handrails
(All new lumber was pressure treated and double coated with stain)
New running boards were installed level with the porch deck
After finishing the new frame, we installed joist hangers
Next came measuring, cutting, and installing the joists
All done with the joists!
Ready for new floor boards!
All floor boards were spaced 1/2" apart for the entire run
